A jam nut is a type of low profile nut, usually about half as tall as a regular hex nut. It is most commonly used as sort of a locking nut, where it is "jammed" up against a regular nut to lock it into place. It is also used in situations where a standard nut is too large to fit.
These jam nuts are TRUE TITANIUM(TM), specifically Grade 5 (6Al-4V) Titanium, and are 44% lighter than stainless steel.
